Dental Implants

WHAT are Dental Implants?

Dental implants have revolutionised the way dentists deliver care to their patients. By imitating natural teeth, Implants are the gold standard when it comes to replacing missing teeth.

An artificial root comprising a titanium screw is placed into the bone. A porcelain crown, bridge or a denture is then placed over this to provide a secure, functional and cosmetic result.

Dental Implants:
• Look, feel and function like natural teeth
• Mean lifelong tooth replacement for many people
• Preserve the bone structure of your jaw
• Do not damage adjacent teeth
• Restore your natural chewing ability and your ability to taste food
• Can greatly improve the quality of your life!

Standish Street Dental Implant Clinic

There are a number of treatment stages involved in the provision of dental implants. After the initial planning stages, the implants are placed and any necessary bone augmentation is carried out. Following a healing period of approximately twelve weeks the restoration, which will be visible in the mouth, can be provided. In some cases this is a crown or a bridge and in others it may be a denture.

Although this is a minor surgical procedure, our patients inform us that their experience is of minimal post - operative discomfort.

The Dental Implant Clinic here at Standish Street Dental benefits from the wealth of experience of Professor Cemal Ucer, Dr Usman Hameed and Dr Chris Wood, who have been providing dental implant treatment for a combined total of over 70 years! The well-respected clinic receives referrals from other dental practices throughout the North West of England. We achieve excellent results with our tried and tested implant systems, using advanced complementary techniques such as PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) to enhance healing, and also we have a digital 3-D CBCT scanner which enables the dental surgeons to place the implants with pinpoint accuracy.
